Grades 6 - 12
Freshwater Investigations: Clean Water = Clean World

We find students learn best with multiple program sessions. These could be spaced over several days, weeks, or months. We can also decrease the number of sessions depending on class availability.
With sensory and experiential learning, students will create sound maps and begin to recognize and identify birds by ear. Activities can be lengthened or shortened for various ages and abilities.
Students will visit a local natural area for a grade level appropriate bird and/or plant life survey(s). Site excursions will familiarize upper level students with monitoring native plants and reporting on the invasive species that are affecting local ecosystems.
Students will reflect creatively on their experiences in writing or art and can make an active pledge to protect and promote healthy habitats with volunteer opportunities for ongoing and upcoming restoration and monitoring projects in our community.
Touch whale bones, examine shipwreck artifacts and connect with the coast's living history.
