Have you ever wondered what the name of the rock you found on the beach is? Visit the John Letos Earth Room at the Coastal Interpretive Center. There you will find a display of commonly-found rocks, along with displays of crystals, volcanic formations, and other various kinds of rocks.

A film on the Phantom Tsunami of 1700 is playing in this room. The film explains the fault that caused the tsunami and the research to explain the ghost forest on the Copalis River north of Ocean Shores.

There is a weather station set up in the room and information about the importance of weather effects on the environment.
